Ben Jefferson Wins Two in a Row in Lancaster

Ben Jefferson is quickly becoming the puller to beat in the Pro Street Diesel Truck class with the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series). In less than one week, Ben has taken home over $1,600 from the series. “This guy is on a roll and showing the Dodge boys that a Duramax can run with the best.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. Ben won $1,000 at the Matt Pike Memorial Pull this past Saturday in Brandenburg, Kentucky and took him $600 for his win last night in Lancaster. Ben also runs the Outlaw Diesel class and his winnings are over $1600.

Lancaster, Kentucky Next Stop on the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series

June 24 and 25th are the next events for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series). The Garrard County Fair in Lancaster, Kentucky will host two days of pulling on one of the best tracks in the region. “Lancaster is known for a power track and we look forward to a great event in Lancaster.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “There is a long tradition of great pulling events in Lancaster and we look forward to putting on a great show.” Commented McConnell.

Big Crowds and Lots of Pullers at the Matt Pike Memorial Pull

A record crowd attended the Matt Pike Memorial Pull this past weekend in Brandenburg, KY as the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) pulled at the Meade County Fairgrounds. “We had a great show with our biggest crowd ever.”, said event Promoter Neal Allen. “The fans loved all the smoke and noise.” Commented Allen.

2nd Annual Bluegrass Nationals Great Success in Danville

The 2nd Annual Bluegrass Nationals took place in Danville, KY on June 18-19, 2009. It was a great success for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) and the Danville-Boyle County Fair. “We fought rain all week at the fair and though we had to rain out the Thursday event, Friday’s pull went off perfectly.”, said Danville-Boyle County Fair Motorsports Director Chris Goodlet. “We want to thank all the pullers and fans for attending the event and look forward to 2010.” Commented Goodlet.

$1,000 to Win For All Classes at Brandenburg

On June 20, 2009 four Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series winners will walk away with $1,000 in their pocket. The promoters of the Matt Pike Memorial Pull are paying a raised purse of $1,000 to the winner in each of the four classes sanctioned by the BOB Series. “There is no better way to grow our pull then to help the pullers, and our raised purse will do just that.”, said event promoter Jason Allen. “We have been doing this pull for a few years and it keeps getting bigger, and we expect this year to records for pullers attending, as well as fans.”, commented Allen.

National Television Coverage at the Bluegrass Nationals in Danville, Kentucky

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) heads to Danville, Ky. on June 18-19, in Danville, Kentucky. This event will receive national television coverage on June 19 on the Outdoor Channel. “For the first time in the history of pulling, a regional series will receive national event television coverage.”, said BOB Series CEO, Tom McConnell. “Danville, Kentucky has a long history of great pulling and we will show 30 million people how great Danville is.”, commented McConnell.

Ponderosa Speedway Event Great Success for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series


The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) held the first truck and tractor pull ever at the World famous Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on May 30, 2009. Event had over 60 entries with great pulling action on a good power track. “The facility is excellent for truck and tractor pulling. There was plenty of pit area and plenty of staging area.” said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “The track was of concern, as event promoter Larry Yantz was going to haul in dirt for the track. With the wet spring we had, time did not allow for the dirt to be hauled in, but the dirt in the infield worked great for pulling. It was a real power track.”, added McConnell.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) is headed next to the Ponderosa Speedway this Saturday night in Junction City, Kentucky. “The Ponderosa Speedway is one of the most popular dirt tracks in America, and we look forward to a great pulling event this weekend.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “This is the first time that the Ponderosa Speedway has ever had a pulling event, and we think the fans and drivers will be in for a great show.”, commented McConnell.

Record Crowds and Huge Entries at the First Battle of the Bluegrass Pull in Carlisle, Kentucky

May 26, 2009 was a great day in Pulling history. Over 80 pullers participated at the first ever Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series event in Carlisle, Kentucky. Not only was there a large turnout of pulling vehicles, but Carlisle, Kentucky set a record for crowd attendance.

Carlisle, Kentucky Opens Season for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series

May 23rd is the season opener for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series in Carlisle, KY. Pull will start at 7pm EST and the event is being held at the Nicholas County Fairgrounds in Carlisle. “We are excited about opening our series with such a well established pull.” said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “We expect a large turnout of vehicles and fans.” commented McConnell.

Pullers to Win New Eagle Tractor at the 1st Annual Bluegrass Classic

This November, one lucky Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) puller will win a brand new 25 HP Eagle Tractor. The Bluegrass Classic will take place during the Friday night session of the Eagle Tractor Nationals, held at the new indoor arena in Liberty, Kentucky November 12-14, 2009. The Bluegrass Classic will feature the top eight pullers from seven classes that pull with the BOB Series. The winner of each class will be entered for a drawing that night. The winner will be drawn that night and will receive a new Eagle Tractor. “There is no better way to get our name in front of so many customers. We believe that this event and tractor giveaway will help to grow Eagle Tractors into a well known company.”, said Eagle Tractor President Keith Spears. “Eagle will also have a large presence at the event, showing to the fans and drivers our complete product line.”, Spears added.

Legendary Puller Paul Yates Passes Away

With great sadness, the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) is sad to announce the passing of Paul Yates. Paul passed away on May 4, 2009. He was 47. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Visitation will be on May 6 from 5pm EST-8PM EST at Wilson Funeral Home in Manchester, Ohio. Funeral will be at 2pm EST on May 7th at the same location.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) is proud to announce the addition of a new class. The class will be called Outlaw Street Diesel Trucks and will allow pullers to run a 2.8 Turbo Charger. “We have had a lot of interest from Diesel Truck Pullers to add this class, and it is now a part of the BOB Series.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “We have several events that will sanction this class in 2009 and we look forward to growing and promoting this exciting class.”, commented McConnell.

The event will take place at the Casey County Fairgrounds November 12-14, 2009. “This event will feature some of the best pulling in the United States. Battle of the Bluegrass to host Drivers Meeting on March 22


The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) will be hosting a drivers meeting on March 22, 2009 at 3pm EST at the Danville-Boyle County Fairgrounds in Danville, KY. This meeting is open to all drivers that are interested in pulling with the series. The meeting will discuss the rules, classes and purses, as well as update drivers on the 2009 schedule. All interested drivers are encouraged to attend, as the BOB Series is looking for feedback as to better serve the drivers in this region. Feedback on rules will be greatly appreciated.
