2011 Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series
Press Releases

December 15, 2011(Louisville, KY)
Pro Stock 4WD Rules Remain the Same for 2012

The recent controversy over intake manifolds in Pro Stock 4WD has caused the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) to carefully review the situation.  After speaking with over 20 pullers in the class, the BOB Series will not change its rules for 2012.  “The pullers have spoken.  They do not want this rule, and we will not allow sheet metal intakes in our Pro Stock 4WD class.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.  “We do not vote in our organization, however, we always try to understand the needs of the pullers.  The pullers are our customers and they do not want this rule, therefore, we will not be adopting this rule.  If something is not broke, there is no reason to fix it, and the rules regarding this issue will not change.” Commented McConnell.

The BOB Series made this ruling after several pullers called voicing their concerns about other organizations adopting this rule.  The BOB Series made phone calls to pullers from three states and decided it was in the best interest of the BOB Series to leave this rule alone.  “The sheet metal intakes will force pullers to spend anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000 for a small horsepower increase.  The pullers do not want to do this and we will abide by their wishes.” Said BOB Series President Kevin Fulks.  “We invite all Pro Stock 4WD pullers to our events in 2012, and we are looking at having 10 to 15 hooks, as well as increase in purse money for this class.” Commented Fulks.

Also, two new class spokesmen were added to the BOB Series for 2012 for the Pro Stock 4WD.  Pullers may call to voice any other concerns to either Nathan Luallen at 812-596-0308 or Mervin Turner at 270-427-0205.
