Click to view winnersAugust 8th was a great night for the Battle Of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series). Over 60 pullers competed in competition for bragging rights at the Nicholas County Fair Pull in Carlisle, Kentucky. “Thanks to the hard work by the fair board, we had a great track and plenty of pullers.”, commented BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “The crowd stayed till the end to see and saw a great show.”, commented McConnell.

Five classes of pulling competed in Carlisle. 14 Trucks entered the Work Stock Class and fans sat on the edge of their seats to see if the Willoughby Team could win four in row. When the dust settled, Willoughby finished 2nd behind Jake Fryman and his Duramax. This was Jake’s first victory with the BOB Series.

Next to pull were the 8500 Light Hot Farm Tractors, with the first puller, Danny Hardwick, driving Chris Gillispie’s 1066 IH. Lorene Glass finished 2nd, with crowd favorite Bubby Race finishing 3rd.

The Pro Street Diesel Truck(2.6) was also a class where history could be made. Fans waited egarly to see if Wesley Wade and his Raw Diesel sponsored Dodge could win four in row. When the dust and smoke settled, Wesley finished 3rd . Ben Jefferson won the class with a pull of over 314, with Pro Street standout William Chambers finishing 2nd, pulling over 309 feet.

Pro Farm Tractors was a great class, with 13 pullers making the call. Keith Race and his world famous “Red Rattler”, won the class with an incredible pull of 343 feet even. 2nd place with to Justin Massey at 332.08, and finishing 3rd was Jeff Tackett and “Logan’s Run”.

The night concluded with the Outlaw Diesel Trucks(2.8). The first puller in the class was Matthew Williams. Matthew had front end trouble and had to drop to last. With the front end trouble taken care of, Matthew pulled his Dodge to a distance of 352.03, the longest distance of the entire evening, and good enough for the win. George Peterson took 2nd at 324 with his “Gray Ghost”. Ryan Uptegraft took third with his Duramax.
